His project will focus on the characterization of the electronic band structure and many-body effects in strongly correlated artificial heterostructure. The objective is to demonstrate that sputtering is an excellent growth method to produce high quality oxide heterostructure with a surface quality suitable to obtain sharp ARPES spectra. Flavio will use ARPES to investigate novel electronic phases in strongly correlated artificial oxide heterostructure with 3d and 4d transition metal ions.
